Are you ready for an exciting new career opportunity? We're seeking a talented and motivated Acquisition Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in acquiring property rights and leases for power and transmission development projects in the Northern Iowa/Southern Minnesota area.
This is a full-time, remote position that may require weekday travel, including occasional overnight stays. Don't worry, we'll provide you with the necessary office equipment and cover all travel expenses or offer reimbursement. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to obtain a Notary Public designation.
As an Acquisition Specialist, you'll have the chance to make a real impact by coordinating infrastructure projects and fostering strong relationships with industry leaders and landowners. Your responsibilities will include conducting negotiation meetings with property owners to acquire easements, property acquisitions, or access rights, evaluating and negotiating crop and property damages, and working with landowners to coordinate preferred methods of property access for construction or utility maintenance.
You'll also be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate landowner records and notes, reading and interpreting project plans, and tracking project progress and task completion. It's a dynamic role that offers a unique blend of challenges and rewards.
To excel in this position, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent (required), with a BA or AA in Business, AG Business, Real Estate, Marketing, or a related field (preferred). Experience in sales, real estate, land acquisition, customer service, insurance, or hospitality is a plus, but not required. Additionally, you should have an understanding of construction and/or agriculture needs, and be willing to obtain a real estate license if you don't already have one.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, effective communication and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy are essential. You'll also need a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to support the travel requirements of the role.
In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive compensation package, with an hourly rate ranging from $22.50 to $29.50, commensurate with experience. You'll also receive mileage reimbursement at $0.67 per mile (average agent earns $16-24k per year), along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 4% 401K company match.
