We seek a dedicated and knowledgeable Affordable Housing Compliance and Training Specialist to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining compliance and delivering essential training across our portfolio.
Position Overview:
The Affordable Housing Compliance and Training Specialist will be responsible for ensuring our properties remain in full compliance with all affordable housing regulations, including HUD, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), and other federal, state, and local housing programs. Additionally, this role will develop and deliver training programs to property staff, ensuring that all team members are well-versed in compliance requirements and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement appropriate training materials for Property Managers.
- Hosts weekly compliance training.
- Identifies and creates customized training for Compliance Tier I members.
- Processes annual and interim certifications and unit transfers.
- Processes Gross Rent Changes.
- Processes Housing Assistance Payment vouchers.
- Voucher Reconciliation.
- Monitors TRACS.
- Assists in remote lease signing support.
- Special Claims.
- HUD Repayment Agreements.
- Performs internal audits of tenant files.
- Provides daily compliance help desk support.
- Assists in Section 8 lease-ups.
- Monitors changes in LIHTC and HUD regulations and requirements and implements changes as indicated.
- Possesses knowledge of the Federal Fair Housing Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Annual training in these areas is required.
- Attends training as required. Successful completion of LIHTC and HUD training, including passing the exam.
- Fulfill all other assigned duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.

Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- At least two years of related affordable housing property management experience.
- Certification in LIHTC and Section 8 compliance.
