Job Summary
ExoTerra is a world leader in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We are seeking a full-time Aerospace Design Reviewer and Drafter with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. The hired employee will be responsible for being the company’s lead drawing checker and maintaining SolidWorks infrastructure such as drawing forms and standard notes. Tasks also include drafting, model creation, support release processes, as they relate to propulsion system, mechanical design, and spacecraft systems.
This position is open to candidates with Mechanical or Aerospace degrees or those that have relevant design, drafting and reviewing experience. Strong knowledge of ASME Y14 standards, with emphasis on ASME Y14.5 -and Y14.41. Experience with developing and interpreting 3D CAD models standards, practices, and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Using SolidWorks to complete and check detailed CAD and drawings for machined parts, complicated assemblies, propulsion components and GSE Examines engineering CAD models, drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design to prescribed standards and contractual requirements.
- Examine CAD models, drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design to prescribed standards and contractual requirements.
- Document and implement necessary designs of detailed parts and assemblies to meet Design for Manufacturing &Test principles.
- Analyze performance data using industry standard methods and tools.
- Ensure designs and builds meet customer requirements.
- Support the release process and PDM/PLM processes and workflow.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 8 Years of CAD modeling, drawing and reviewing experience.
- Skilled in the application and understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M), broadly equivalent combination of training and experience.
- CAD design and drawing release preferably SolidWorks
- Redlining Drawings in Bluebeam.
- GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5) expertise and performing tolerance analysis.
