Responsibilities

AscensionSaint Thomas is looking for a Full-Time Night Neuro Hospitalist APP to join our team in Nashville, TN. We would also consider someone that is looking for a part-time position.

Position Highlights:

• Full-Time opportunity with $5,000 signing bonus
• Inpatient experience necessary
• Neuro experience preferred
• Coordinates and reviews patientswith NeuroHospitalist to develop a care plan with each patient
• Communicates treatment plan to hospital personnel and consults patients and their family
• Needs to be a team player and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy

Neurohospitalist Program

• Ascension Saint Thomas supports a dedicated neurohospitalist program with integrated neuroscience research throughout our Ascension Saint Thomas Research Institute. Our network of facilities offers 24/7 stroke care at our Advanced Primary, Comprehensive Stroke, and Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Centers. In addition, telestroke and teleneurology services are available in outlying communities across middle Tennessee.
• Our stroke program has grown 8.5% over the past 5 years and our joint ventures across the continuum of care serve patients in stroke follow up clinics, outpatient neuro rehab and inpatient neuro rehab

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Required Credential(s):

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Physician Assistant credentialed from the Tennessee Committee on Physicians Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.

Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

1 year of experience preferred.
