KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant / Patient Admissions Rep. in Palo Alto, Ca.
Night shift 2:30PM-11:00PM with training from 8:00AM-5:00PM
A Brief Overview:
The Registrar is responsible for registering and processing all patient types in an accurate and timely manner.
Processes include: Obtaining Patient Demographic InformationObtaining Insurance information and patient eligibility. Obtaining Patient signatures on all legal documents. Obtaining Patient co-pays and deductibles
What you will do:
• Completes patient admission/registration process mandated by the EMTALA law, in accordance with PAS policies and procedures for patient Registration.
• Obtains and documents required deductibles, co-payments and deposits.
• Collects signatures on Registration-related documents.
• Maintains patient valuables, per department policy.
• Performs scanning of all related documentation into EDM before end of shift.
• Uses online systems such as HDX, direct payer website and Experian, to obtain insurance and patient demographic information.
• Understands the importance of performing quality registrations during high volume periods. Shows an ability to appropriately prioritize various required job functions in order to improve customer service, operational efficiency, and financial benefit.
• Maintains a strong cooperative relationship with other registration staff as well as clinical staff. Provides clinical staff with necessary plates, wristbands, facesheets and other documents in a timely and professional manner.
• Updates Notifications and Crossovers from nursing in a timely manner.
• Must be able to work in a team environment. Shows ability to assist other registration staff, and in return can identify when he/she requires assistance. Must be able to produce high quality work without direct supervision.
• Responsible for providing sensitive, timely and appropriate customer service for patient activity in all PAS areas. Obtains authorization from the clinical staff for patient visitors.
• Responsible for distribution of Notice of Privacy Practices, in accordance with HIPAA regulations and VHS Policy.
• Maintains a sensitive, solution-oriented, and professional demeanor at all times.
• Attends department staff meetings or other dept-related meetings, workshops and in-services.
• Maintains a collaborative working relationship with Internal and
• External customers (i.e. ED Clinical Staff, Ambulance agencies, Law Enforcement)
• Uses energy from stress in a positive way, to complete tasks and create a positive working environment.
• Ensures office equipment is in working order. Is familiar with Downtime Procedures and workaround solutions.

Education Qualifications:
• High school diploma required; AA degree preferred. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Typing 30 wpm.
• Able to use multiple computer programs simultaneously.
• Able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks.
• Able to work at both stationary and mobile workstations, requiring sitting and standing.
• Able to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse staff in a highly sensitive and stressful environment.
• Flexible availability to accommodate training and work schedule.
