The Special Education Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction and curriculum and collaborate with both school personnel and families to provide services to students. Our teachers and staff provide individualized academic and behavioral interventions, personalized attention, and all necessary support services students need for success. All staff will be highly trained on instructional and therapeutic strategies and techniques.
Help develop knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and meet the needs of all students by using Connections Academy instructional models, strategies, and curriculum
Develop and maintain individualized lesson plans
Utilize school’s behavior support and intervention strategies
Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by Connections Academy, local, state, and/or federal agencies including but not limited to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans, Incident Reports, High-Risk Evaluation Forms, etc.
Drive, record, and track student growth and progress towards academic, social, and emotional goals
Ensure the safety and supervision of students at all times
Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be required
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required
Must have LBS1 Special Education License or endorsement for K-12
Knowledge and expertise in child development.
Knowledge and experience leading teacher assistants, working within a collaborative team and supporting students’ family.
