Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) is a not-for-profit, U.S. Coast Guard classified organization, formed in 1990 to provide oil spill response services and mitigate damage to the environment. MSRC’s capabilities help meet the planning criteria established by the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.
MSRC is currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our team in Concord, CA. The position is eligible for MSRC's highly competitive benefit programs, including health insurance and paid time off!
JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant performs administrative duties and provides general office support. This position assists with managing the office facilities, provides miscellaneous clerical support, and coordinates office activities and functions. The position reports to the Human Resources Administrator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides administrative support for staff as needed.
- Coordinates travel to include airfare, hotel accommodations and rental cars.
- Receives packages and inter-office mail and delivers them.
- Coordinates maintenance of office equipment; provides minor maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Receives visitors and vendors, interacts with people inside and outside the organization.
- Assists with meeting and event arrangements as requested.
- Maintains filing systems as needed.
- Orders and purchases facility supplies and services and upkeep of common areas.
- Performs additional responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant or a related role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- High school diploma or equivalent required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Standing, stooping, bending, walking regularly
