About the Job
Dr. Richard A. Berger is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of hip and knee joint replacement surgery (www.outpatienthipandknee.com). He is currently looking for a friendly face to fill his devoted team with an Administrative Assistant/ New Patient Liaison Role. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards in excel, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks, while being. A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role.
Responsibilities
- Handle and coordinate active calendars
- Schedule and confirm meetings
- Ensure file organization based on office protocol
- Provide ad hoc support around office as needed
- Knowledge in or ability to learn medical coding.
- Clinic Day/Scheduling/ Prepare Clinic Rooms
- Prepares clinical folders for clinic days
- Assist with Follow-up appointments and post-op visits
- Assist with post-op visit including Workman's Com
- Schedule Surgeries including surgical signup sheets
- Maintain and update all surgical schedules
- Discuss non-clinical surgical questions patients have while utilizing given surgical material.
- Discuss with patient telehealth medicine appointments
- Conduct reservations for surgery centers
- Assist with Ordering and assigning complexity of surgical case
- Maintain patients charts post-operatively including photos
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience desired
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills both within the team and to patients
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including working
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment including problem solving, decision making, strategic thinking, planning, communication, results driven and performance management while displaying leadership
- Superior organization skills including but not limited to ability to prioritize tasks presented
- Good phone skills--clear, easy to understand, reliable with following up as needed, good conflict-resolution skills to handle possible patient situations.
