Purpose of Role
Part-Time In-person Laboratory Instructor, spring semester. The instructor will teach a 3-contact hour, 1 credit hour laboratory. Instructor may teach additional sections if available.
About This Opportunity
Joining Natural Sciences team, the Adjunct Molecular Biology Laboratory Instructor will be responsible for the following:
- BIO 440L (Molecular Biology laboratory); 1 Credit Hour(s)
- BIO 440L: Topics focus on techniques of molecular biology including PCR, Western blot/ELISA, immunohistochemical staining and bioinformatic approaches. The instructor is welcome to collaborate on syllabus to incorporate their own area of expertise if desired.
Term: Start: 1/22/2024 End: 5/21/2024
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in biology or biochemistry or related fields; previous experience teaching college-level science preferred.
- Experience with "active learning" in both an online and face to face modality
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents.
- Strong time management/organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and all university administration.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching.
