JOB FUNCTION
Implements the comprehensive activity program for both groups of residents and individual resident’s interests. Drives residents on outings and to appointments as necessary. Assists Life Enrichment Coordinator in decorating, party planning, and other related duties. Provides care and supervision of Day Club clients, if applicable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Gathers supplies, prepares for activities, solicits resident participation, leads activities, cleans-up after activities.
2. Provides one-on-one socialization to residents as needed or as directed.
3. Drives the bus for resident transportation.
4. Decorates for, and assists with, special events and holidays.
5. Markets the Chancellor community in the community-at-large when opportunities arise.
6. Works as a team member to maintain a pleasant, effective work environment for staff and caring home environment for the residents.
7. Assists Life Enrichment Coordinator in developing and creating new and interesting activities, games, events, and lifelong learning opportunities.
8. Assist in mealtime service including escorting Residents to and from the dining room.
9. Communicates regularly with Life Enrichment Coordinator regarding inventory supply needs, activity participation, Resident issues, Resident requests, and any other activity and event related issues.
10.Assists with monthly newsletter production
11.Assists with creating monthly activity calendar
12.Responds professionally and timely to all phone calls, emails, and questions from Residents, family members, and staff.
13.Assists in the planning and execution of large special events
14.Assists in decorating for all holidays and special events
15.Serves on committees as assigned.
16.Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives general supervision for the Life Enrichment Coordinator.

EQUIPMENT USED
Telephone, computer, typewriter, bus, activities supplies, and games.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. A high school diploma is required.
2. Current driver’s license with acceptable driving record. If community has a vehicle which needs a special license, this license is required.
3. Activity work experience with seniors is preferred.
4. Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
5. Must have an acceptable Criminal Record Clearance or Exemption, be fit-for-duty as evidenced by a Health Screening and have TB Clearance.
6. California: Must have a current First Aid and CPR card.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Push residents’ wheelchairs for safety. Ability to maintain positive attitude and make sound decisions.
