We are looking for an AP Supervisor on a direct-hire basis.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interview prospective employees and choose the best applicant based on skills, knowledge, and abilities required for the job.
- Trains and oversees employees are involved in payable functions.
- Directs assigned tasks and assists as needed.
- Assists with performance evaluations.
- Oversee reports regarding accounts payable aging, purchase order errors, payment history details, vendor statements and utility logs.
- Process accounts payable invoices at times.
- Heavy in procurement process improvement and processing at times.
- Develop guidelines for properly handling and coding invoices to maintain general ledger expense accounts credibility.
- Develop system process improvements around purchase order processing in Workday.
- Analyzes utility logs to ensure all auto drafts have been paid and recorded correctly.
- Verifies check runs before printing to ensure all special request are addressed.
- Reconciles accounts for the payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger).
- Raises awareness of errors to management and the proper GL Accountant for any possible adjustments needed to financials.
- Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for tax preparation and periodic audits.
- Ensure employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors so that the payables clerk can prepare and submit 1099s.
- Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience
- One year of experience in an accounting office
- Three or four years of years in managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
- Workday experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
- Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
