About Our Client:

Our client is a growing organization based in Bethesda, MD, seeking to expand their accounting team. They are looking for a dedicated and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to help manage the efficient processing of accounts payable transactions and maintain a smooth workflow within their finance department.

Job Description:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for handling a variety of accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable. This role involves processing invoices, managing payments, and ensuring the timely resolution of any discrepancies, while working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and organize AP inbox, routing invoices to the appropriate departments for approval.
• Process invoices and check requests to ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and submit payment batches, ensuring proper approval and documentation.
• Conduct weekly check runs, posting payments once approved.
• Provide check run summaries and analytics to management.
• Consolidate vendor statements and follow up on missing invoices.
• Communicate with vendors to request necessary documents (e.g., missing invoices, W-9, COI forms).
• Download invoices from vendor websites and ensure timely payment of all bills.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
• Exposure to accounting ERP systems (Lawson is a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
