Position: Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of our Accounts Payable processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Accounts Payable cycle efficiently, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices for various real estate development projects.
- Verify and process vendor invoices accurately, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to validate accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and respond promptly to inquiries in the Accounts Payable email inbox.
- Reconcile vendor statements meticulously, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Handle expense transactions with precision and attention to detail.
- Cultivate positive relationships with vendors by addressing inquiries and discrepancies professionally.
- Apply appropriate identifiers to vendor invoices based on project type and company guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy in project cost allocations and documentation related to Accounts Payable.
- Collaborate on special projects as assigned, demonstrating initiative and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in Accounting is advantageous.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in Accounts Payable or a related field, preferably within real estate development or property management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with invoicing processes and experience with Accounting ERP software preferred.
- Knowledge of Sales & Use tax, particularly in real estate transactions, is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Team player with the capability to work independently when necessary.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
