Accounts Payable Specialist - Beacon Hill

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join the finance team at a non-profit organization Beacon Hill is collaborating with based in Silver Spring, VA. This position works on a hybrid work schedule, with expectation to work 3 days on site and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with accounting standards and non-profit regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable, including reviewing, verifying, and entering invoices into the accounting system.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, checks, and vendor inquiries.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payments.
• Prepare and maintain a schedule of payments to ensure timely disbursements.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing accounts payable reports and supporting documentation.
• Maintain and update vendor records, including tax information, payment terms, and contact details.
• Assist with audits by providing accounts payable documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting practices and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to address payment inquiries or issues.
• Perform other accounts payable and administrative duties as needed.
