What is the AP Specialist Experience?
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a key role in managing vendor relationships and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments. From verifying invoices and entering them into our system to preparing weekly check runs and handling electronic payments, your attention to detail will be crucial. You'll also manage vendor records, resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments, and ensure that all tax documentation for 1099 vendors is up to date. Your ability to communicate professionally with vendors, internal teams, and residents will help maintain smooth operations.
In addition, you'll assist with month-end closing by reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and tracking fixed assets. You will manage AP ACH transactions, maintain filing systems, and ensure compliance with 1099 and unclaimed property reporting. Your role will also involve supporting audits and helping to streamline processes, with the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of new systems. What are the job qualifications?
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in an accounts payable ERP software
- Experience with Dynamics GP is preferred
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- High degree of attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with ability to problem solve
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity is essential
