Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing the company's accounts payable functions, ensuring that all vendor invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process incoming vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy in amounts, terms, and account coding.
- Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, or other payment methods in accordance with payment terms.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, addressing any questions or concerns regarding payments.
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing necessary reports and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls related to accounts payable.
- Provide support in monitoring departmental budgets and expenditures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounts payable or related financial roles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in accounting software or ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles.
