Overview:
Under minimal supervision, performs technical accounting duties in the review, analysis, preparation, and maintenance of complex financial records, systems, statements, and reports. Area of assignment is in the accounts receivable section.
This is a non-exempt position in Salary Grade 155: Min $28.09 – Mid $33.71 – Max $39.33 hourly. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

- Maintains a variety of accounting/financial records and documents within accounts receivable; prepares daily bank deposit; records incoming funds (wire transfers, ACH, check, credit card, and cash) to accounts receivable ledger; performs research of proper account coding for posting entries to ledger; reconciles data and creates adjusting entries; performs a variety of mathematical calculations.
- Generates and distributes billings and invoices, which includes write-offs, credits, and adjustments to customer accounts.
- Interprets complex information, performs research, resolves, and responds to inquiries/issues.
- Participates in audits and provides supporting documentation as assigned.
- Maintains a variety of records, which includes customer file database(s).
- Scans and uploads documents into financial systems.

- Reconciles customer statements, accounts, and records for mathematical accuracy, proper coding and authorization, documentation, completeness, timeliness, and for compliance with regulations, policies, and guidelines.

- Develops a good understanding of department and agency goals and objectives.
A high school diploma or completion of GED with a minimum of six years of experience in the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of financial records and reports in accounts receivable. Coursework in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.
