The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, manage financial reporting, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. This role is vital for maintaining the financial health of the organization and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, providing training and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies to improve team performance.
- Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
