Key Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage month-end close procedures ensuring accurate recording of revenue, manufacturing cost, and expenses.
- Direct and oversee the work of accounting team members ensuring accuracy and timeliness of delivery. Accounting team members include AP, general accounting, cost accounting and fixed asset accounting.
- Work with cross functional business partners on continuous improvement initiatives to drive operating efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationship with Pregis Accounting network to drive adoption of best practices.
- Lead and coordinate annual external audit ensuring actions put in place to mitigate and/or remediate audit risk. Coordinate of all audit required reports and information.
- Actively engage in the professional development of staff providing opportunities for growth.
- Partner with the Plant Management teams to ensure clear understanding of performance versus targets and prior year across the P&L and Balance Sheet, identifying areas for improvement and assisting in prioritization.
- Ad-hoc analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business needs.
- Provide key decision support to manufacturing plant and support safety and operating initiatives.
- Lead Cash Management forecasting for Business Unit, identifying opportunities to drive cash efficiency.
- Ensure completion of weekly reviews of operational & financial results variances to identify unusual variances, report root causes, and drive remediation where applicable.
- Support the operating units annual budget process with a complete understanding of opportunities and risks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 5+ years' experience with progressively increasing responsibility in accounting/finance in a manufacturing environment or in Public Accounting
- CPA, CMA or Masters degree in Accounting preferred
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Large scale ERP experience preferred
- SAP experience a strong plus
- Strong MS Excel skills required
