Are you an experienced Accounting Manager with a knack for strategic planning and financial management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in the Construction industry. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to lead our accounting team. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the daily operations of our accounting department. This includes:
1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including project costing, invoice coding, and reconciliations.
2. Completing monthly close procedures and preparing financial statements.
3. Maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Developing and implementing accounting policies, coordination of systems and procedures, and preparing operating data and special reports as required.
5. Assisting in the development and implementation of strategic plans.
6. Managing the financial planning and budgeting processes.
7. Evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations.
8. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
9. Working closely with the management team to share reports and analysis findings.
10. Mentoring, training, and developing the accounting staff to grow within their roles and meet the objectives and goals of the department.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry and possess the following:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager role or similar.
3. Proven experience with project costing, invoice coding, reconciliations, completing monthly close procedures, and managing the General Ledger.
4. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong ability in strategic planning and financial management.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong leadership qualities and experience in managing a team.
8. Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
9. Strong attention to detail with an ability to analyze and interpret data.
10. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
