Shulman Rogers is seeking an Accounting Manager will report directly to the Controller/CFO and play a key role in managing and performing the day-to-day accounting operations of the Firm. This position will directly and indirectly oversee a team of accounting professionals and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the Firm's financial data. The Accounting Manager will assist the Controller in maintaining strong internal controls, supporting financial reporting, and driving process improvements to support the Firm's operational and strategic goals.
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for critical accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes. This role requires a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or legal industry environment.
- 2+ years of experience managing or supervising accounting staff preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with accounting or legal practice management systems (e.g., PerfectLaw, Aderant, or similar software)
- Experience with cash flow management, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
