The Accounting Manager will adhere to accounting and reporting processes and systems that support accurate income and expense capture and reporting for OW Practice, OW MSO, and reporting to the MSO parent organization (Optum Specialty Practices, OSP). The Practice Controller will establish relationships with physicians, report on the monthly financial and operational results in partnership with the finance and accounting teams. This role will assist with managing bank transfers between divisions, allocations for shared expenses, timely payment of expenses, and reviewing physician compensation calculations for accuracy. Will work with existing finance and accounting service providers to deliver high quality services to the Practice. This position will serve as the finance and accounting primary point of contact on a day-to-day basis for the OW Practice and MSO. Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, you will be entrusted with a wide array of responsibilities. Your main duties will include:
- Overseeing the Accounts Payable (AP) function and ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
- Performing daily cash reconciliation and managing bank transfers.
- Handling month-end close processes and reporting.
- Managing the physician compensation process and ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Reviewing and analyzing revenue, identifying trends, and providing insights.
- Using financial reporting tools such as FinPack to generate comprehensive financial reports.
- Overseeing the collections and billing processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Working closely with the Optum Specialty Practices (OSP) and OW Practice, OW MSO.
- Reconciling General Ledger (GL) accounts and ensuring accurate financial data.
- Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in health care finance & Accounting, Accounts Payable, Reconciling cash, OW Practice, OW MSO, reporting, MSO, OSP, Optum Specialty Practices, managing bank transfers, physician compensation, month-end close, FinPack, Reviewing revenue, GL, daily cash reconciliation, AP, collections, Billing, FFS fee.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or a professional certification such as CPA would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including preparation and analysis of financial reports.
- Proficiency in using financial software and databases.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
