Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage a team of 10 finance professionals- general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances, and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of financial performance.
- Ensure the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, ensuring quality compliance with GAAP.
- Implement and manage a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- leverage knowledge of Sage software to streamline financial management and reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry ideal
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)

- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with relevant accounting software (preferably Sage, or Timberline software.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
