Our Elgin Il based client , a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of CNC machines globally, is seeking an Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) Accounting Manager to join the team. Global revenues total approximately $225 million, supported by 700+ employees concentrated in manufacturing and selling sites in the US, Switzerland and China. ROLE The Accounting Manager is a key position responsible for driving the financial close and reporting requirements of the US organization in accordance with US GAAP and sound internal controls. This position will directly report to the Controller. - Desired Previous Roles: Previous role(s) as an accounting manager, senior accountant, senior financial analyst and similar roles and titles at businesses with revenues of $100+ million.
- Desired Industry: Industry experience working at a manufacturing company required, with prior experience working in manufacturing businesses producing capital equipment preferred.
EDUCATION: - B.S. / B.A. Degree in Accounting
- CPA designation or MBA degree strongly preferred
EXPERIENCE: - Minimum 5 years working as a professional in corporate finance and/or public accounting roles
- Experience completing general accounting and financial close functions in ERP systems, with Oracle JDE experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience working for a global accounting firm (Big 4) a plus
- Demonstration of increasing levels of responsibility and experience managing professional finance staff
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES: - Mastery level understanding of US GAAP Accounting principles
- Highly analytically, and driven to prepare and analyze financial reports, data sets and models
- Excellent project management skills including managing deadlines
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work productively across the Company’s global footprint, including key operations in U.S., Switzerland, and China
RESPONSIBILITIES: Key responsibilities for this role are as follows: - Working with the Controller on the financial close process for the Company, driving towards completion on a defined reporting calendar with minimal to no exceptions on a monthly basis
- Assisting with the design and implementation of an effective control environment to ensure accurate financial statements and safeguarding of company assets
- Working with the Controller to establish global accounting policies and practices in key areas where consistency and a controlled framework is warranted
- Serving as a key liaison with external audit firms for completion of audited financial statements
- Assisting the Controller in researching and documenting complex accounting matters, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
