Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Job Overview:
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily accounting functions, including data entry, maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with month-end tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry: Accurately input financial transactions into the accounting system, ensuring all records are current and precise.
- Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process incoming invoices related to raw materials, supplies, and services, ensuring proper coding and approval before payment.
- Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling accounts, including vendor accounts, inventory accounts, and bank statements.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate financial records, including organizing accounts payable/receivable files and managing documentation related to manufacturing expenses.
- Billing Support: Assist with generating and sending invoices to customers for goods sold, ensuring accuracy in pricing, terms, and delivery details.
- Payment Processing: Assist with processing payments, including checks, ACH transfers, and vendor credit payments.
- Month-End Assistance: Support month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, assisting in inventory accounting, and generating financial reports.
- Communication: Liaise with internal teams (e.g., purchasing, production) and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, answer queries, and ensure timely payments.
- Compliance: Ensure that all accounting practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and manufacturing-specific cost accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar tools).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with accounting software for manufacturing companies (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
