What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems has an immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk who serves as an assistant in the trust accounting department and is responsible for a variety of administrative activities, playing a critical role in ensuring check runs are processed in a timely and accurate manner, client mailings are accurate and on time, as well as a back up to the accounts payable position. This position will coordinate with accounting and/or other departments. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing support with a variety of accounting duties. The Accounting Clerk will also serve as a backup to the Accounts Payable and Project Support staff.
Essential Functions Include but are Not Limited to:
- Coordinate, process, and mail client escrow/trust account check generation per client specifications and/or guidelines.
- Reviews, verifies and reconciles bank statements for client escrow/trust accounts.
- Assist with check deposits for client escrow/trust accounts.
- Review and confirm client received payments are properly accounted for to facilitate posting to accounts and forward payment documentation to corporate lockbox.
- Maintains accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and subcontractor vendor files.
- Researches and responds to inquiries regarding client escrow/trust account issues and problems.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external customers to drive efficiency in processes.
- Assist in projects and process improvements related to tasks as identified by management.
- Provide support as needed for Accounts Payable including processing invoices and new vendor set up.
- Provide support as needed to Project Support Specialist for subconsultant set up, project invoice approvals and business and property tax payments .
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

- MS Office proficiency.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-sensitive.

This compensation range is specific to the State of California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; internal peer equity; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TranSystems, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000-$60,000 annually.
