Founded in 1981, The Public Law Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free legal services to low income residents and other nonprofits in Orange County. Last year, Public Law Center staff and volunteers provided over 65,000 hours of free legal services in handling over 4,500 cases benefiting low-income children, adults and seniors. The estimated value of this work is roughly $60 million in just the past three years. Our services include counseling, individual representation, community education and strategic policy advocacy and impact litigation to challenge societal injustices.
About the role
- Provide accounts payable support and perform accounting clerical duties to the accounting department.
What you"ll do
- Supports Chief Financial Officer by handling administrative tasks to ensure proper financial documentation and processing.
- Duties include providing administrative and bookkeeping assistance and data entry.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school degree or equivalent (Associate's Degree or higher a plus).
- Prior office experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently and multi-task in fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to fostering positive work culture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook required; proficiency in Quickbooks Online a plus.
Salary & Benefits
$25.00 - $30.00 an hour - DOE
Primarily remote, 24-32 hours (3-4 days) per week.
Attendance in-person meetings at PLC offices or other locations in Orange County periodically required.
