Staff/Senior Accountant-Fremont
This position will direct financial activities by performing complex financial services under the general direction of the Finance Director. Responsibilities include leading the month-end close, preparing financial statements, conducting analysis, reconciling accounts, heavy general ledger, and overseeing grant accounting. This role also oversees Accounts Payable and Receivable functions as well as payroll.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
-Lead the month-end close process and prepare monthly financial statement packages.
Conduct in-depth analysis and reconciliation of accounts; investigate and report on budget variances.
-Manage accounting and reconciliation of GL accounts including fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and deferred revenue.
-Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
Additional duties:
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as requested.
- Coordinate special events and prepare promotional materials.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business with 4-6 years of related experience, or AA Degree with 5 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in computerized accounting software, MS Office (especially Excel), and financial systems.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in non-profit organizations.
- Certification (CPA, etc.) or equivalent experience preferred.

Salary: $70-$87K annually
