Job Summary
This is a financial position in the Clinical Trials Office at Huntsman Cancer Institute. The role of this team is to ensure that our awarded sponsor contracts are managed as negotiated. This position will reconcile all the financial activity from monthly management reports for our growing clinical trial portfolio. This position will be responsible to prepare invoices to sponsors on a quarterly basis as well as monitoring the aging schedule of outstanding invoices. This is a high-volume position that requires a high level of organization and attention to detail. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in patient billing accounting experience and clinical research.

Responsibilities
This position:
· Reconciles revenue and expense activity of 200+ clinical trials on a monthly basis. Identifies and researches discrepancies and missing activity using various software systems as well as internal and external contacts.
· Invoices patient activity and maintenance fees to study sponsors on a quarterly basis.
· Posts payments from sponsors to the appropriate studies. Researches payment discrepancies and contacts study sponsors to work through issues.
· Continually monitors and follows up on past-due invoices.
· Interprets contracts and builds new study financial templates. Updates templates as contracts are amended.
· Prepares financial statements and status reports for the CTO . Prepares financial statements for individual investigators. Identifies potential issues to bring to the attention of the team lead.
· Creates and tracks Campus Orders for IRB fees, Cost Transfers, Payment Requests, CTO Purchase Orders, etc. as needed. Files as needed.
· Assists with special projects and team coverage.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus one year related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. A thorough understanding of general ledger accounting practices, cost analysis and accounting principles, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Access databases may be preferred in some areas.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
