Position: Senior Accountant
Salary: 70k-84k
Duration: Temp to hire
Location: Mountain View ONSITE
Key Responsibilities:
Fund Management & Reporting:
- Manage and track multiple sources of funding, including donations, grants, and endowments.
- Ensure the accurate allocation of funds to the appropriate programs and projects.
- Prepare and maintain records of fund-related transactions.
- Generate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for fund performance and expenditures.
Grant Management:
- Track grant income and expenditures to ensure compliance with donor or grantor restrictions.
- Ensure proper documentation for grant applications and reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial statements and reports required by grantors.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in preparing the annual budget for the organization and specific programs.
- Monitor budget adherence and report on variances.
- Develop financial forecasts for long-term planning and sustainability.
Donor & Fund Restrictions Compliance:
- Ensure funds are spent according to donor-imposed restrictions and legal requirements.
- Create reports to communicate fund usage and program impacts to donors and stakeholders.
Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Maintain the general ledger for all fund-related transactions.
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements and balance sheets, to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to fund accounting.
- Oversee payroll, vendor payments, and other disbursements linked to specific funds.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of GAAP for non-profit organizations.
- Experience in grant management and donor reporting is a plus.
- CPA or Non-Profit Accounting Certification is a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment.
