We are on the hunt for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a financial whizz who thrives in high-energy, fast-paced environments and has a knack for numbers. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a wide range of accounting tasks, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, forecasting, account reconciliations, cost accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
1. Perform month-end close procedures, including preparation and posting of journal entries, and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
2. Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, providing insightful analysis and commentary on variances.
4. Undertake cost accounting activities, including maintaining cost accounting system, cost ledger, and cost analysis reports.
5. Conduct variance analysis for management review to identify potential areas of operational improvement.
6. Participate in budgeting processes, including the preparation of budgets and financial plans.
7. Prepare comprehensive financial reports, ensuring they comply with company policies and industry regulations.
8. Work closely with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
9. Proactively identify and address accounting issues and opportunities for improvement.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Finance industry.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills.
5. Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
6. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to research, analyze and synthesize data.
7. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.
9. Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
10. Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
