Performs account management tasks including outreach, forecasting, basic negotiations and pricing generation. As well as general order logistics tasks to ensure order fulfillment based on customer needs to ensure overall satisfaction including, quotation follow-up, order processing, product delivery monitoring, and other correspondence. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts used in technical business-to-business sales. Relies on critical thinking, and established guidelines to perform job functions.
Responsibilities:- Provides superior service to customer accounts requiring high-level management, including Global Key Accounts and Strategic Partners.
- Develops and maintains strong business relationships with Key Customer Accounts.
- Recognizes customer account opportunities and involves Solutions Engineers for technical issues and Business Development or Field Sales Managers for significant new opportunities.
- Interfaces with Supply Chain, QA, and the Distribution Center to fulfill customer needs.
- Generates and provides formal quotations to customers.
- Creates volume-based pricing discounts on products by pricing to market and adhering to margin guidelines.
- Follows up on quotations in a timely manner to close quotes and maximize sales success.
- Engages in customer negotiations, including price, delivery, and payment terms.
- Processes and manages Standard and Custom Orders in SAP. Proactively manages deliveries to ensure superior service.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and problem-solving skills to resolve issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and service.
- Records and updates customer opportunities.
- Works with Outside Sales Reps to develop Account Strategy Plans with defined Goals, Objectives, and Activities.
- Collaborates with marketing to initiate and develop targeted marketing activities for Key Accounts.
- Properly escalates customer and order logistics issues internally.
- Reaches out to assigned Key Accounts for forecast updates and relays back to sales management and supply chain.
- Works closely with Project Managers on larger customer projects to ensure customer needs are met and routine updates are given.
- Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Basic optics and optics industry knowledge preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Advanced phone, customer service, interpersonal and sales skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Education/Experience:
Associate degree, Advanced degree, or Equivalent Work Experience
Minimum of three to five years' experience in technical or business-to-business sales environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and operate office equipment such as a copier; ability to see details at a close range; ability to sit at desk or PC for long periods of time; work in office setting.
