About the Job
WE ARE SEEKING A SKILLED AND DETAIL-ORIENTED VEHICLE AUTO BODY TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR TEAM. AS AN AUTO BODY TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING, RESTORING, AND REPLACING VEHICLE BODY PARTS, AS WELL AS REFINISHING VEHICLES TO PRE-ACCIDENT CONDITION. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH A VARIETY OF VEHICLE MAKES AND MODELS, WITH A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR TECHNIQUES, EQUIPMENT, AND MATERIALS.Collision Repair: Assess and repair vehicles involved in accidents, including fixing dents, scratches, cracks, and other structural damages.
Frame and Unibody Repair: Use specialized tools to straighten and align vehicle frames and unibodies to manufacturer specifications.
Panel Replacement: Remove and replace damaged vehicle panels (e.G., fenders, doors, hoods, bumpers).
Body Filling and Smoothing: Apply body filler to damaged areas, sand, and smooth surfaces to prepare for painting.
Paint and Finish: Mask, sand, and prep vehicle surfaces for paint application. Apply primer, paint, and clear coat to achieve a high-quality finish.
Parts Installation: Install or replace damaged components, such as windows, mirrors, lights, and trim.
Mechanical Knowledge: Perform light mechanical repairs as needed to ensure proper function of parts (e.G., aligning doors, hoods, and panels).
Quality Control: Inspect the finished vehicle to ensure repairs meet quality standards, are free of defects, and adhere to safety regulations.
Customer Communication: Communicate with customers and the shop manager about the scope of repairs, timelines, and any additional work needed.
Safety & Cleanliness: Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional certifications or technical training preferred).
Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or in a related field (3+ years preferred).
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized auto body equipment (e.G., frame machines, welders, sanders).
Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures and materials, including knowledge of auto paint and finishing techniques.
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and blueprints.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver s license.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
