Job Details
We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented AR Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Receivable, with a proven ability to reconcile ledgers, prepare monthly entries, and use Vlookup for reconciliations. This is a permanent position that will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. Experience with Great Plains software is a must.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the full cycle of Accounts Receivable, including billing, collections, customer service, and reporting activities.
2. Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to AR, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
3. Perform monthly reconciliations of AR related accounts in the General Ledger.
4. Use Vlookup to manage large volumes of data, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.
5. Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve any billing disputes or discrepancies.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files, including contact information, payment terms, and credit limits.
7. Provide support during audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation related to AR.
8. Use Great Plains software for various AR activities, including invoicing, reporting, and data analysis.
9. Continuously improve AR processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
10. Stay up-to-date with accounting best practices, trends, and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an AR role, preferably in a medium to large organization.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with functions such as Vlookup.
3. Experience with Great Plains software is required.
4. Strong knowledge of AR processes, including billing, collections, and customer service.
5. Ability to prepare and post monthly journal entries and perform reconciliations.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
10. Professional certification, such as Certified Accounts Receivable Specialist (CARS), is a plus.
