Summary
The AR Manager assists the Senior Financial Controller in day-to-day accounting and reporting activities associated with Accounts Receivable for the Carrier.
The position monitors and analyzes the achievement of KPIs of functions performed by GBS and is point of escalation and resolution for customer and internal team queries related with process in scope
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Support, guide, train, and monitor the performance of Accounts Receivable teams of Cash Applications, Sundry Invoicing and Adjustments/Refunds; propose process improvements.
- Action research of payments not applied to FICA system, as necessary. Act as point of escalation for GBS for complex cases.
- Partner with GBS CR to track performance of unapplied and unidentified payments. Support Senior Financial Controller in the implementation of action to meet targets and KPIs established.
- Work with internal teams when there are new fees/process changes to ensure sundry invoicing and refunds processes are clearly outlined for GBS and customers.
- Key user for development and implementation of platforms to automate payment reception, reconciliation and reporting.
- Cash Management: monitor interface from bank statement to SAP.
- Assist with AP & Corporate deposits account coding.
- Support and engage in a team mindset of high performance, participate in permanent improvement actions and support a team culture of innovation.
Skills and Knowledge
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or similar fields from a four-year college or university. Optional waiver extensive specific experience in related functions
- Minimum of 3 years of AR accounting, analysis and audit experience; industry experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products (MS Word, EXCEL, etc.) and experience with SAP.
- Comfortable making decisions supporting change and recommending new approaches to the way we do business.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to influence corporate direction working closely with senior management.
- Strong communication skills. Able to work effectively with other internal and external customers, detail oriented and maintains the highest productivity and quality levels.
- Strong leadership, team building, people management skills. Strong time management and organization skills
- Demonstrated ability of working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company.
