POSITION SUMMARY:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for creating invoices and credit memos, issuing them to customers by all necessary means, and updating customer files. Will be required to effectively interact with individuals at all levels in the organization, as well as with Customers regarding billing inquiries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Billing Truckload, Courier and Dedicated customers
- Collect and submit required documentation (when appropriate) to support invoices
- Systematic uploading of invoices to third party payer web sites
- Issue special billings as required
- Provide support in the collection of invoice payments
- Processes and posts all receipts, posting checks, ACH payments and credit card payments
- Provides customer with copies of missing invoice(s) and supporting documentation of their account
- Uploading invoices to (CASS), a third-party payment company
- Mailing invoices to customers
- Sorting Bills of Lading
- sending past due/collection emails
- Running Accounts Receivable aging reports
- Reports and follows up on customer short pays
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
- Process driven with ability to multitask
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Required:
- Minimum 1-2 years of related experience
- Preferred:
- Associates degree in related field
- Experience working with Accounting
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of TMW, Xcelerator, Great Plains

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
