AP Specialist - True North

Purpose:

Provides support across departments via the processing and monitoring of purchases, as well as accounts payable/receivable transactions. Reviews the accuracy of payments and transactions and responsible for data entry, maintenance and analysis of data and files. Works independently on day-to-day activities required while also providing support, as needed to the finance department and other departments, as requested.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the integrity of financial information by managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation of accounts, entering invoices, billing customers and balancing reports
• Process and mail checks; daily posting of checks received to general ledger or vendor accounts
• Work with various departments to accurately process invoices, checks and data files
• Work with customers to investigate and resolve billing and shipping issues
• Organize and maintain accounting files and filing systems
• Maintain vendor records and reconcile credit card and bank statements
• Audit Accounts Payable/Receivable invoices after entry for accuracy

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strengths: organization, problem solving and analyzing data
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel
• Able to work independently under minimal supervision, while achieving goals within given time constraints
• Associate Degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience (preferred), or other business-related field
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, frequently required to sit and stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. Must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
