SUMMARY AAR is looking for licensed Apprentices (Airframe and Powerplant) for an exciting opportunity. Selected candidates will rotate through 4 different skills (Interiors, Sheetmetal, Mechanic and Avionics) every 4-6 months. Candidates will also receive GEN FAM training, GMM and on-the-job experience. The goal of this apprenticeship is a future position as a QC Inspector.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Only perform those duties for which they have been properly trained. Maintain personal tools in a condition that will not compromise the condition of the product being maintained. Replace simple items such as, batteries, filters and similar accessories, using basic mechanic hand tools. Remove / install inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards, and related items. Technician helper for 2 person tasks. Clean aircraft interior and exterior. Basic aircraft interior maintenance work such as: hydro lock changes, window shades, cabin trim, carpet changes, lamp replacement (for reading, galley, lavatory, ceiling, and cove lights) Lube tasks (gear, wing, and tail lubes) General utility work including: staging and servicing hydraulic/oil carts, swapping out nitrogen bottles. Equipment round-up for maintenance tasks (i.e. tire carts, jacks, dollies, nitrogen bottles for tire/break changes). Complete all paperwork in accordance with the procedures outlined in the QCM and RSM. Maintain the work area in a clean and safe manner. All other duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared Communication: excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills Initiative: plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions, prepares for problems or opportunities in advance, undertakes additional responsibilities
