About the Job
American Welding & Gas is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager / Driver to oversee operations, sales, and delivery at our Menomonee Falls branch. This position involves 50% driving and delivering, with management responsibilities for sales, warehouse, distribution, and production, including P&L oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety initiatives and enforce safety protocols.
- Ensure cost-effective and timely customer deliveries.
- Provide excellent customer service at the counter, by phone, and during deliveries.
- Manage sales, margins, and expenses to improve branch performance.
- Coordinate with other branches to resolve issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate sales-related paperwork and financial records.
- Supervise and develop branch personnel, providing training, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Stock and display merchandise attractively; maintain a clean store environment.
- Review monthly financials and make adjustments to improve performance.
- Drive profitable sales growth and manage branch operations efficiently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Driver-Specific Duties:
- Provide cylinder and bulk deliveries, loading/unloading trucks.
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations (Hazmat, OSHA, DOT).
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork.
- Occasionally perform overnight trips.
Qualifications:
- Branch Manager:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
- Driver:
- CDL Class B with Hazmat & Tanker endorsements.
- Clean driving record (3+ years).
- Ability to lift 75-100 pounds.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
