Job Summary
PSEG is looking for an intern for the Nuclear IT Desktop Support Team.
This job involves working as a desktop support technician. Responsible for maintaining and providing personal computer related technical support solutions to on-site and remote personnel.
This position will be Hybrid.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
• Perform client desktop software installs.
• Provide remote desktop support to PSEG workforce.
• Follow procedures and processes required.
• Deliver and install peripheral equipment to various locations around site.
• Exercise good communication skills. Prioritize and escalate high impact issues.
• Support teammates and collaborate on ideas and solutions.
• Invoke diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Build strong client relationships through excellence in customer support.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar technical major and graduating between December 2025 and May 2028. Students graduating in May/June 2025 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2025. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Because this position requires driving to various PSEG Locations, a valid driver’s license and clean driving history is required.
Preferred:
• 3.0 GPA
• Within 60 min driving distance of PSEG Nuclear LLC.
• Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
• Detail oriented and demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and other staff.
All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
