About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced 401(k) Specialist to join our dynamic team and help us manage and enhance our retirement plan offerings.
Job Summary:
As a 401(k) Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration, management, and compliance of our 401(k) retirement plans. You will work closely with employees, management, and external vendors to ensure the effective operation of the plan, handle employee inquiries, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan Administration: Oversee daily operations of the 401(k) plan, including contributions, distributions, and loan processing.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, and Department of Labor regulations. Prepare and submit necessary reports and filings.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding 401(k) plan questions, issues, and education. Provide guidance on plan features, investment options, and retirement planning.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with plan recordkeepers, investment managers, and other vendors to ensure smooth plan operations.
- Plan Design and Implementation: Assist in evaluating plan features, recommend changes or improvements, and participate in the implementation of new plan features or plan amendments.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of plan participants, contributions, and transactions. Ensure data integrity and handle discrepancies as needed.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training sessions and materials to employees on plan benefits, enrollment procedures, and investment options.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Professional certification such as Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in 401(k) plan administration or related field.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of 401(k) plan regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with retirement plan software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and efficiently with a high degree of attention to detail.
