Description:
Set up, operate, or tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal or plastic materials, such as wire, rod, or bar stock.

9:45pm -6am Sunday-Thursday
Description:
Set up, operate, or tend lathe and turning machines to turn, bore, thread, form, or face metal or plastic materials, such as wire, rod, or bar stock.
Duties:
- Performs all assigned machine shop operations
- Reviews set up sheets and specifications to determine program sequence, sets up operation and dimensions of finished work piece.
- Inserts cutting tools/tool holders and positions tools on turret.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee
- Follows tag system, quality procedures and completes all relevant in-process inspection forms
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed
- Ensure all gages used are calibrated and in good working order
- Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results
- Perform general maintenance on machine such as changing coolant, oils and other lubricants
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity using micrometers and calipers
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Willing to learn to become proficient in operating applicable equipment
- Quality and detail oriented
- Excellent mathematical skills
