Summary of Duties:
Perform electrical and mechanical installation, maintenance, and repairs on building and/or equipment. Troubleshoot, adjust and/or repair equipment.
What You'll Do:
- Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and testing equipment, and following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic diagrams.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic equipment.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Layout, assembles, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gages, valves, regulators, and equipment as necessary.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishments.
- May install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment, such as Programmable Controllers.
- Performs both preventive and unscheduled maintenance, as needed, to building and/or equipment.
- Maintains all plant facilities and equipment, in safe operating order. Immediately reports any unsafe condition or operations.
- Assists in planning and scheduling projects when needed.
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and free of clutter and debris.
- Assists in other areas whenever needed.
- Randomly inspect the quality of work produced by employees.
- Identify tools needed for manufacturing processes.
- Operates various fabrication machines, as necessary.
- Follow and enforce all safety rules and company policies.
- Promptly notify management of all issues of safety, quality, production, and discipline.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Legible handwriting.
- Ability to follow written instructions well.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong math skills.
- Experience/knowledge in welding.
- Ability to work well with other people and demonstrate a cooperative attitude.
- Must maintain forklift operator certification.
- Requires strong background in electrical and electronic training, knowledge, & experience, and ability to read electrical manuals.
- Must be able to work independent and use good judgment.
- Must be able to use power and hand tools to cut, thread, bend, and assemble black iron and plastic pipe and conduit.
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, a wide variety of tools and equipment.
Physical Job Requirements (but not limited to):
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at occasional intervals.
- Ability to stand, stoop, and bend 80 percent of the time.
- Must be able and willing to work at varying heights.
- Must have good color vision and be able to demonstrate good eye and hand coordination in functions.
