***RATE INCREASE - Effective September 1, 2024, the base rate for this role is increasing to $40.00 per hour***
Position Description:
Maintain production facility and equipment, with a Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees, to insure safe and quality products by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment; and providing support to equipment such as HV/AC, boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration system, blenders, processing and packaging equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures operation of plant machinery utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment and completing preventive maintenance requirements
- Controls downtime by ascertaining needed repairs and parts replacement, and completing repairs in timely fashion
- Fabricates repair parts by machining items to specification as necessary
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by informing production workers of routine techniques, answering questions, and responding to requests
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and updating certified skill levels
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed

Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Stationary Engineer’s License; City of Chicago Stationary Engineer’s License preferred
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
- Bilingual preferred
- Minimum three to five years related maintenance experience
- Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, and PLCs
- Proficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred
- Valid state driver’s license
- Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Able to tolerate extreme temperatures
- Able to operate variety of hand and power tools on a frequent, daily basis
- Able to frequently climb, crouch, kneel and crawl to service variety of equipment
- Be able to work in confined spaces
