Position Overview:
The 3rd Shift Assistant Production Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the production operations during the third shift. This position involves managing Area Leaders, Team Leaders, and direct production employees, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise production employees, ensuring effective communication and reporting of shift progress and results in alignment with divisional goals.
- Oversee shift operations including production, maintenance, materials, and quality groups to ensure timely and high-quality output.
- Lead by example in decision-making processes, maintaining sound judgment and involving appropriate personnel.
- Responsible for conflict resolution, interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisals, rewarding, and disciplining employees.
- Address production issues promptly in accordance with the companys escalation policy.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of preparing and interpreting reports, instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from management, employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours/shifts to meet company needs.
