About the Role

MWH is looking to strengthen their Digital Delivery team with the addition of a 3D Visualization Specialist. The Visualization Specialist will play a critical role in creating high-quality 3D renderings, animations, and virtual environments that highlight the aesthetic, functional, and technical aspects of our construction projects. This individual will be responsible for developing impactful visuals that communicate project proposals, design concepts, and completed work to a variety of stakeholders, including clients, investors, contractors, and the public. This role requires expertise in both the construction industry and advanced 3D visualization techniques, with a keen understanding of how to use visuals for effective marketing and sales strategies.

The Visualization Specialist will act as direct support for all Production Leads to help deliver on pursuit, marketing, and project needs. This person is responsible for the development of 3D model-based renderings, animations, logistics plans, phasing plans, and sequences of construction environments to communicate our construction expertise to internal and external clients. This position will work closely with our Business Development, Marketing, Digital Delivery, and Project teams to provide key visual content to capture planned and future work, progress, sequencing, and construction approach elements.

Essential Functions

3D Modeling & Rendering for Construction Projects:

• Create photorealistic 3D models and renderings of architectural designs, construction projects, site layouts, and developments.
• Focus on visualizing both exterior and interior spaces, emphasizing architectural details, landscaping, and structural elements relevant to the construction industry.
• Collaborate with our business development, marketing, digital delivery, scheduling, and project team to accurately capture and reflect project approach information in 3D within tight timeframes for key pursuits.

Construction-Focused Visual Content Creation:

• Develop and produce high-quality visuals such as renderings, virtual tours, and animations to showcase new construction projects, conceptual designs, renovations, and completed buildings.
• Generate visualizations to support bid submissions, marketing campaigns, presentations, and client proposals, ensuring that key design and technical aspects are highlighted effectively.
• Will include work with additional content from aerial drones, laser scanning, photogrammetry, and image and video capture to incorporate these elements into a final product.

Marketing Materials:

• Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create compelling content for brochures, websites, social media platforms, and project-specific promotional materials.
• Create detailed 3D animations and interactive walkthroughs that can be used for online marketing, client meetings, and trade show presentations.

Client & Stakeholder Communication:

• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure all project details are accurately captured and effectively communicated in the visualizations.
• Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and enhance the visual output.

Project Management & Delivery:

• Manage multiple 3D visualization projects simultaneously, from initial concept to final deliverables, ensuring high-quality results and timely delivery.
• Provide regular updates and communicate effectively with both internal and external teams to ensure the visual content meets all project requirements.
• Support other digital delivery and BIM initiatives to ensure project teams have required information to execute on existing projects and meet or exceed client expectations.

Virtual Reality (VR) & Augmented Reality (AR):

• Explore and implement VR/AR technologies to create immersive, interactive experiences for clients and stakeholders to explore construction projects in real-time.

Post-Production and Optimization:

• Perform post-production editing on rendered images and animations to ensure high-quality, polished results, using tools like Photoshop, After Effects, or other relevant software.
• Optimize rendered scenes for various platforms, ensuring the final product suitable for different media formats.

Stay Current with Industry Trends:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest 3D visualization technologies, trends in construction marketing, and new software/tools that can improve visualization quality and marketing effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture Visualization, Graphic Artist, Interior Design, Digital Media, Media Arts, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or 3+ years’ experience.
• Proven track record of creating high-quality renderings, animations, and visual content for construction projects, architecture, or real estate.

Expertise

• Proficiency in 3D design software such as MAYA, 3ds Max, Blender, SketchUp, Rhino, Google Earth, Global Mapper, and Infraworks, or similar tools.

• Experience with rendering engines such as V-Ray or Arnold for photorealistic renderings and animations.
• Strong understanding of architectural design, construction processes, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear visual representations.
• Knowledge of real-time visualization tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Twin Motion or similar software is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively contribute to project team discussions and convey information effectively.
• Experience in computer gaming industry is desirable, building custom levels, environments, content, cinematics, or other content.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams)

Technical Skills

• Strong modeling experience.
• Implement textures, shaders, to bring models to life
• Optimize models for performance and compatibility in various platforms, including game engines or real time rendering software.,
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) for post-production and compositing.
• Experience in motion graphics or video editing software for creating animations and dynamic content.
• Familiarity with modeling software such as Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Sketch Up, Navisworks, Synchro, Infraworks, or similar to create 3D models, plans, or section views is highly desired.

Soft Skills

• Understanding of visual storytelling and composition techniques to create engaging content.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple projects with different timelines.
• Ability to understand and prioritize marketing goals to create visuals that align with business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VR/AR tools and immersive construction marketing experiences.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and how to integrate 3D visualizations with BIM workflows.
• Experience in construction-specific marketing, including creating visuals for real estate sales, development proposals, and client presentations.
• A background in construction management or architecture is a plus.
