Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, the Production Manager ensures the production of company products at the highest quality, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Responsible for achieving department goals and objectives and working in collaboration with counterparts to achieve overall department and company KPI’s.
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the systems integration and test functions to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Plan production schedules utilizing ERP system and adhere to the processes in place to promote flow of product downstream.
- Review parts shortages with purchasing, and adjust schedules as necessary.
- Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, safety and delivery.
- Participate in afternoon production meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment requirements.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and plan the repair of machines and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Utilizing Lean Concept Tools, continually evaluate processes and methods, recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, and quality of product.
- Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
- Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as timecards, quality records, etc.
- Approve vacation schedules
- Ensure compliance with 5S standards and all safety and work rules and OSHA regulation
Education and/or Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and 2 – 3 years of related experience; or an associate degree and 5 years of progressively responsible related experience or a combination of both.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- High level of computer literacy, to include Word, Excel and Outlook
- ERP knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of Lean tools i.e... 5S, Kaizen, JIT, FIFO and streamline of processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work with others

Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
During the performance of his/her work duties regularly lift to 50 pounds and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds, such as removing materials from shipping containers.

The employee works in a warehouse environment and is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
