Position: HR Payroll Specialist

Location: San Diego, CA

Pay: $31/hour

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in HR and payroll administration required.
• Experience managing health benefits, retirement plans, and payroll software (preferably Paylocity).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• Relevant HR or Payroll certifications (e.g., CPP Certified Payroll Professional).

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm

HB Staffing is seeking an HR Payroll Specialist to join a growing and dynamic team! 

• Job Description:
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee timecards and bi-weekly payroll, including managing accruals, bonuses, and deductions.
• Update and maintain payroll records, including personal information, tax withholding, and benefits documentation.
• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.
• Generate payroll reports, tax filings, and other related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Provide managers with requested ad hoc payroll reports.
• Assist with recruitment tasks such as posting job openings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and orientations.
• Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment and termination of health benefits and retirement plans.
• Provide HR support, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and maintain up-to-date records for audits.

Position Requirements:   

• Bilingual in English, Chinese, and/or Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and payroll systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
