This is a full-time position (not temp). We are seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse Lead who is active and inclusive daily to warehouse operation and all activities; this will include audits of inventory, paperwork, breaks, lunches and all daily functions. Must be present on the warehouse floor, walking the aisles and docks to coach your team and proactively address areas of opportunity. Will operate in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment, ensuring that safety and efficiency standards are not compromised. What You'll Do:
- Ensure the safety and legality of food.
- Must be the example by maintaining a positive, motivated, and professional attitude and communication at all times.
- Communicate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Inventory, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Transportation.
- Review all warehouse documents during the shift to ensure accuracy and completeness, such as: Pick List, Bin to Bin, Bill of Ladings, receiving documentation, Pallet Tags, To Do List and Transfer documentation.
- Leads are to manage the breaks of their assigned team to ensure valid coverage on the floor within work areas.
- Monitor and review GFS and Slip Sheet Pallet inventory, Temp tale inventory, load sheet and appointment calendar daily.
- Leads are to direct, build and maintain morale within the assigned team as well as assist in training new employees.
- As a secondary priority in times of absenteeism perform warehouse team member responsibilities as needed including loading and unloading, forklift operation in the freezers, product relocation, etc.
- Direct and coordinate drivers on the finished and raw material returns and movements to meet production and shipping needs.
- Walk and evaluate the work areas and work being done on the scheduled shift. A walk through of all zones at the beginning and at the end of the shift.
- Responsible to address and provide information regarding any warehouse concern or opportunity that arises on their shift or any other shift when asked.
- Monitor email traffic and coordinate with shift supervisors to ensure timely responses.
- Ensure the freezer, cooler, both cold & dry dock are clean and clear for a smooth transition for the following shift.
- Communicate and pass down all necessary information verbally or via shift report to the next shift lead or supervisor to ensure smooth transition.
- Participate in all required meetings and trainings.
- In the absence of the shift Supervisor the lead will be the backup supervision for their shift or location assigned.
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.
- Must be able to work additional hours or beyond standard schedule with little or no notice.

- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Supervise warehouse associates and company CDL drivers ensuring policies and procedures are followed and issue disciplinary actions as warranted and in accordance with company policy.
- Oversees daily workflow of the department’s area of responsibility; Schedules associates to ensure proper staffing and approves associate time off.
- Hires and trains new employees within their area of responsibility.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
WhatWe Need from You:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to lead a team of 2-10 team members.
- Must be able to problem solve and critically think under pressure.
- Some driving required from plant to plant and trailer storage location. (expense will be reimbursed)
- Must be able to handle/touch frozen or hot product/equipment and submerge hands in hot water and detergent.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Good writing/reading/math skills.
- Safety: Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times. Follow lock out/tag out procedures, make sure all safety guards are in place, make sure all safety limit switches are operational, Report all safety hazards to Leads or Supervisors, use all required PPE, and maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safety of others and product.
- GMP’S and HACCP: follow GMP’s at all times and wear gloves at all times while handling product
- Sanitation: maintain a clean work area at all times and Follow all clean up procedures during a shut down period.
- Required Training: GMP’s, Food Safety, food defense, SQF, Monthly Safety Training, Shipping Procedures, and SOPs
- Able to stand for at least 8-12 hours
- Be able to lift, carry, handle, and grasp 35-50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work under various temperatures ranging from typical 45 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and will include, but not be limited to, production machinery, computers, printers, telephones, and normal communication. Hearing protection will be required for all in plant activities.
