Job Title: 2nd Shift-Shift Supervisor
Location: York, PA
Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Job Description: Seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor for our client in York, PA on 2nd shift. The successful candidate will provide leadership and control of all shift activities, including material management, machine center performance, labor utilization, waste management, and production documentation. The Shift Supervisor will ensure that all operations align with company values and goals, particularly in the areas of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Culture: Represent company's values-based culture, engaging employees in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure employee accountability and compliance with workplace safety policies. Support SQF, Food Safety programs, and GMPs by leading by example.
- Process Audits: Conduct routine process audits to ensure crew staffing aligns with item standards and product quality meets customer specifications.
- Production Management: Maintain schedule attainment and adherence. Ensure accurate production document control and input/output reporting in the ERP system.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply a tough-minded management style with positive problem-solving skills using continuous improvement methodologies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Management Style: Strong management skills with a positive approach to problem-solving.
- Leadership: Ability to lead a multicultural team effectively.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills; bilingual candidates preferred.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations, data-driven decision-making.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in ERP systems and productivity software.
- Certification: Six Sigma or LEAN certification preferred, but not required.
- Paperwork: Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or 5 years of equivalent food manufacturing experience.
- Experience: Manufacturing supervisory experience required.
- Instructions: Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions.
- LEAN Systems: Working knowledge of LEAN high-performance systems.
- Adaptability: Flexibility in assigned tasks and responsibilities.
